Risikat Donkor BSc (hons), FDs, MBACP
As a qualified psychodynamic therapist and reiki practitioner, registered with the BACP and BAATN, I have developed a signature way of working by merging western traditional approaches with indigenous and ancestral wisdom. I believe that healing needs to be worked on all levels beyond the physical to promote healing, balance, transformation and personal growth.
As a psychodynamic therapist, I infuse this approach with intercultural therapy and CBT. I am also influenced by black feminist perspectives, narrative therapy and spirituality outside of the context of religion.
My reiki practitioner training allows me to further compliment these methods using energy healing, breathwork and relaxation exercises such as meditation and guided visualizations where appropriate.
I add to these methods aspects of indigenous African mythology and Jungian archetypes to help deepen the connection with ourselves and our internal wisdom.
